Overview – Laser Stretch Marks Removal Treament

In general, laser stretch marks removal is a technologically advanced laser procedure using the new DEKA Fractional CO2 laser or sometimes the V-beam laser, which removes stretch marks by using a highly concentrated beam of light energy. Laser stretch marks removal is popular because it is minimally invasive, and requires no general anesthesia.

Fractional CO2 lasers as well as other types of lasers are used for facial acne scar treatment. In addition to acne, the laser also targets wrinkles and texture problems.

Laser Technology

The new DEKA Fractional CO2 laser is a special laser that simply zaps the stretch marks away. The laser works by shrinking the skin, removing any blood vessels, and remodeling and smoothing out the stretch marks by stimulating the collagen under the skin. As a result, the stretch marks fill themselves in.

The DEKA Fractional CO2 laser is a remarkable laser and is the laser of choice for this procedure. It will completely remove stretch marks for many, but possibly not all people. The effectiveness depends on the skin (dermis), the depth of the stretch marks, and the elasticity of the skin.

Currently, there is no laser available that will completely remove laser stretch marks in just one visit (one or two sessions). The V-beam laser certainly removes stretch marks permanently, but a series of laser treatments is required.

Number of Treatments

1 treatment (1 visit) is required for the initial stretch marks removal.  The recommended treatment plan currently is to have 3 to 5 treatments, no sooner than 4 weeks apart, but it can be later. Treatments can be done in Costa Rica, at home, or anywhere that is convenient.

How many treatments you will need, depends on the severity of your condition, the number and thickness of the stretch marks, and how your body reacts to the laser.
