Overview – Breast Lift with Reduction
A breast lift (Mastopexy) procedure corrects sagging breasts due to loss of skin elasticity by using a combination of removing excess breast skin and tightening of the skin in order to restore breasts to their natural shape and size. Also, women with large, sagging breasts tend to have neck, back and shoulder pain. Breast reduction along with the lift provides a great benefit by removing fatty tissue in the breast and tightening the beasts to make them lighter, smaller and firmer.

Description
The Mastopexy procedure lifts and reshapes the breast. Breast Reduction Surgery corrects over-sized breasts. It re-establishes a functional bust size that is proportionate to the woman’s body.

The procedure involves rearranging the breast tissue, shifting the nipple position if necessary, and increasing the breast firmness by tightening the skin.

Procedure
Breast Lift with Reduction Surgery has two technical aspects: the skin-incision pattern and the skin- and glandular-tissue excision technique applied for access to, and removal of, breast parenchyma tissue.

The incision pattern and the area of skin-envelope tissue to be removed determines the locales and the lengths of the surgical scars. The final shape and contour of the reduced breast are determined by the area of the tissues remaining in the breast and that the skin- and glandular-tissue pedicle has a proper supply of nerves and blood vessels (arterial and venous) to ensure its tissue viability.

The full, corrective outcome of the surgical re-establishment of the new proportionate bust becomes evident between 6 months to 1 year after surgery, as the reduced and lifted breast tissues settle upon, and into, the chest.

The procedure can take up to four hours. There may be some degree of discomfort following surgery, but fortunately very little pain. Swelling occurs but usually begins to subside by the third or fourth day. A degree of swelling may continue for longer periods, but eventually diminishes. A well-fitted bra is worn day and night for three weeks.
